A MILLION THANKS FROM US TO YOU!

We want to thank you for your participation in the 2021 Wild One Run. We appreciate every single participant and donor immensely - we couldn’t have raised this much money without you.

Over $9,000 in donations and proceeds came in through our registration platform RaceRoster and $2,500 were donated by GeoTility. Blenk Development matched the total raised amount of $11,912.14 just like in previous years, bringing us to a grand total of $23,824.28 that will go towards the wellbeing of our future generations.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

Some of the funds will go to CMHA and Foundry Kelowna where they will have an immediate impact in the community. Our CLARITY research project is currently advancing into Phase 3 and we can’t wait to share more about it very soon.

A little overview of what the Blenk Family Fund has supported so far:

  • A mobile unit for Foundry Kelowna called Wellness on Wheels to physically bring mental health services to youth by visiting schools in the Central Okanagan region.
  • What Really Works” – a biweekly podcast by Discovery College that makes critical subjects around mental health accessible for young listeners.
  • CLARITY, a research project in collaboration with Interior Health, the Canadian Mental Health Association and UBC Okanagan. CLARITY stands for Community-Led Action for Resiliency Important Throughout Youth. This project focuses on preventing suicide risk before it arises. The research has entered phase 3 in which Youth is actively involved through deliberate dialogues.

THE CAUSE

All Proceeds go to Youth Mental Health

The Blenk Family Fund was established together with the KGH Foundation to strengthen the network of mental health support and services available to young people and their families in the Okanagan Valley and beyond.

Our goal is to build resilience and heighten awareness. We want to better understand where help is needed. With our work we hope to inspire meaningful, long-term improvements and help more and more young people navigate through troubling times.
